Literature is a unique blend of organized language and the text. In the absence of one, literature is tasteless, incomplete and worthless. Whereas Ethical Literary Criticism, a critical theory, meticulously reads, interprets, analyzes and evaluates the literature through close examinations. Literature is a world of feelings, creations, experiences and reality which can make vigorous and lively by the diagnosis of Ethical Literary Criticism. Therefore, the main crucial concentration and focus of this writing is; how ethical literary criticism reinvigorates, revives and enhances the development of literature, is primarily discussed on the basis of following ideas:
Content
It means the substance of a discussion, information or ideas. The content is certainly different according to author, time, place and periods and it is directly and indirectly associated with the society and people. There might have included both good and bad aspects that can be explored, illustrated and embraced by the theory of ethical literary criticism. Besides, it supports to find out the positive and negative influences and traits of the events and a practice as well draws the key concepts for developing new ideas and fosters to implement in real on the basis of context. Therefore, content is the soul of literature which can keep alive throughout the study of ethical literary criticism.
Framework
All the writings can’t be literature if it is not developed or arranged under the principles, values and beliefs of the literature. So, literature doesn’t mean only creation, imagination or expression of reality and practices it means a well-designed aesthetic and inventive writing process. The writing of literature without framework, concept or plan could be merely writing but not become a literature. As a result, ethical literary criticism can play valuable role for upgrading, enlarging and generating contextual plan, principles and norms for literature. As well it encourages systematizing and drives the literature into the ethical and moral world. Hence, framework is an ornament which makes the content of the literature fascinating, relevant and deep.
Theory into Practice
Literature is not all about seeking pleasure and joy. It is a sea of ideas, knowledge, emotions and experience of many ups and downs. All the things may not be written which are seen and all the writings may not be reading, practiced and can’t come into the uses but without digging and uncovering, throwing aside is meaningless. Thus, thorough and extensive study, ethical literary criticism makes literature from unidentified to identify, inapplicable to applicable and unknown to known. When it is applied in reality and behavior then it increases the effectiveness of the literature. Moreover, practical use of theory helps to shape, build and guide the people, society and country into the way of peace, equality and harmony. Therefore, ethical literary criticism circulates it as like blood in the veins of literature for saving the soul of it.
Literary Community and Technology
The trend of reading literature has been decreased and neglecting its value, norms and worth has been increased due to the heedless of literary community and advancement of technology. Literature is not only a book; it is a foundation of whole civilization, innovation and a path of achieving peace, unity and prosperity. So, ethical literary criticism has been a part for fueling literary community and it is the duty and responsibility of them to revive, promote and polish the literature according to time and context. Ethical literary criticism has been attempting for a long time to connect literature, literary community and reader as well widening its scope in a techno-friendly manner.
In conclusion, it can be firmly stressed that the whole human existence will be in crisis if the literature is in extremity. The life, world and journey to prosperity, beyond literature, become directionless, senseless and purposeless. As water determines the significance of lakes and rivers, literature decides the survival of humanity, sensitivity and morality of human world. Consequently, it is said, “The goal of Ethical Literary Criticism is to uncover ethical factors that bring literature into existence and the ethical elements that affect characters and events in literary works” (Zhenzha, 2004). Thus, a critical theory, ethical literary criticism can represent and endeavor to resuscitate and magnify the spirits and sentiments of different background literature through intensive and profound study, interpretation and inspection.
